I had a client recently who has been through some heart-breakingly difficult days lately. And when it comes to darkness, this was not her ‘first rodeo’ as the saying goes. Still, she is wise enough to know that even though the universe has delivered her yet another box of darkness, in time the dark wrapping will fade and the gift inside will be revealed.
I was grateful for the opportunity to sit with her in this hard won truth. It is not a truth that we can ever hand over to someone else – those boxes of darkness are things we need to open ourselves.
When we commit ourselves to a life of being more conscious we seem to get better at tearing off the wrapping a little earlier- and accepting the gift that awaits us there in the inky black…
