The Beautiful Mess

If you encounter people whose lives seem so squeaky clean and utterly perfect that it makes you want to bury your head under a pillow and cry- crawl out from under the pillow and remember this quote.

There are always going to be people in this world who manage to keep the edges of their existence so tidy that there seems to never be a ‘hair out of place,’ but don’t let the facade make you feel less than.

The ‘perfection feed’ that hooks so many these days seems to run on one giant loop consisting primarily of TV, big screen, and social media realities… and the more we feed at these virtual troughs, the emptier we feel.

Surround yourself with what is real- and remember that no matter how messy life gets, things are always as broken or as fixable as we decide to make them…. and if we walk away from one thing because we don’t want the mess, there will be a different mess waiting up ahead. Why??? Because transformation is messy- and we don’t get to new growth without some degree of death and decay… just look toward mother nature for the reminder on this.

So let the a squeaky clean ones enjoy their teflon coated reality- and let those of us who came here to grow embrace these messy, imperfect, unpredictable lives we are given. They may not be perfect, but they are always evolving- and what is messy today, may very well be beautiful tomorrow.
