Storm

‘When someone is going through a storm, your silent presence is more powerful than a million empty words.’

Yesterday I awoke to an early morning text. It was from a lovely and wise woman I got to know a few years ago when she was sitting vigil with her best friend who was dying young. It was the two year anniversary of her loss, and the text she sent was simple and beautiful: Good Morning Annette. Please say this prayer with me today in memory of my friend.

I loved that she sent this text to me…. And I loved the fact that she knew I would show up.  How could I not? Being invited into the storm is sacred space, and having the opportunity to be a silent presence during the storm is even more sacred…. Thank you, Lisa, for inviting me in <3

What a beautiful tribute you continue to make to this friendship that now transcends the world between life and death…we should all be so lucky to have a friend like you.
