The Real Things

“The real things haven’t changed. It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have;to be happy with simple pleasures; and have courage when things go wrong.” ― Laura Ingalls Wilder

If we look toward the outer world right now, I think it is safe to say, most of us feel distressed. On both the macro (world) and micro (personal) levels, there seems to be a whole lot of difficulty and chaos occurring.

What can we do? Today’s quote sums up my thoughts on this perfectly…. truly the only thing we can ‘do’… is to do right each day, do better if we stumble, and stay the course of honesty, integrity, and personal responsibility. Your small personal behaviors  may not change the world, but they will change your world- and will keep you from sliding down that slippery slope that leads to the chaos that seems to be everywhere right now.

We cannot look ‘out there’ and expect the world to change to meet our needs.  We have to look ‘in here’ and be the change.

‘Be the change you want to see in the world’ a famous verse that we have all heard many times…but hearing it and living it are two different things. There is no time like the present…
