Even when we have tears life is beautiful. Today’s quote expresses a truth I deeply believe in. There is rarely a day that goes by where a few tears do not escape from my eyes- and 99% of the time the tears spring forth due to beauty, not sadness.
Because I have worked with the both the grieving and those near the end of life for most of my career, I get a daily dose of both the beauty and the frailty of life. It has carved a space deep within me where meaning collects like rain, and those drops usually find their way back out in the world in the form of my tears. There is never a day that I do not appreciate this inner well.
When I look at life through eyes that seek beauty and acknowledge the frailty of our days, its true, the tears come easy… but so does the joy.
