Lies are not something that we can deposit into the world and then leave behind. Once we let deception loose, it will stay near us like an ornery stray dog- slinking along in the shadows of our life, making just enough of a ruckus that we know its there, but never coming close enough for us to contain it.
If we tell the truth, the truth sits still. It becomes part of our past and is something we can always return to and lean against- because it is unmoving…
But a lie, a lie will take off running wildly into our future – taking our peace with it…. That wild beast of deception will create all sorts of havoc up ahead, we just never quite know where, until we stumble into the mess.
